Kashmir Solidarity Day 2021 was observed at the Embassy of Pakistan in Vienna Austria

On the eve of Kashmir Solidarity Day 2021, Pakistan Embassy Vienna organized a press briefing on 4th February at the Embassy of Pakistan in Vienna Austria. The briefing, which lasted for about an hour, was attended by notable journalists belonging to various international electronic and print media. H.E Ambassador Mr Aftab Ahmed Khokher, Ambassador of Pakistan to Austria and Slovakia welcomed the delegation and briefed them about various aspects of the long standing issue.

The ambassador apprised the attendees about Indian atrocities in Illegally Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). He stated that 5th February was marked by Pakistani and Kashmiri people across the globe as Kashmir Solidarity Day to express unity with the oppressed people of IIOJK who had rendered unmatched sacrifices for their right to self-determination.
Ambassador Khokher, while referring to illegal action of Indian government of 5 August 2019, said that it was a violation of UN Security Council Resolutions. He also said that India had continued uninterrupted military siege since 5 August 2019 and turned Jammu and Kashmir into the largest prison of the world with communication blockade, depriving the Kashmiri people of medical or other facilities.
Ambassador Khokher said that UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, EU, OIC, several members of UK Parliament and US lawmakers as well as Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch have expressed concern over the grave human rights and humanitarian situation in IIOJK. Even the international watchdog, the Genocide Watch has expressed fears of genocide against the Muslims living in IIOJK.
Ambassador Khokher highlighted that the plight of the people in the IIOJK had further deteriorated due to COVID-19. Therefore, the international community must urge India to reverse its action, lift the double lockdown and allow access to international health experts to extend medical help to the besieged Kashmiris.

He reiterated that the Government and the people of Pakistan would continue to extend their unwavering political, moral and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri people until they get their legitimate right to self-determination in accordance with UNSC Resolutions and as per aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

عشية يوم التضامن مع كشمير 2021

قال السفير خوخير إن المفوض السامي للأمم المتحدة لحقوق الإنسان والاتحاد الأوروبي ومنظمة المؤتمر الإسلامي والعديد من أعضاء البرلمان البريطاني والمشرعين الأمريكيين وكذلك منظمة العفو الدولية وهيومن رايتس ووتش قد أعربوا عن قلقهم إزاء الوضع الخطير لحقوق الإنسان والوضع الإنساني في IIOJK. حتى أن منظمة مراقبة الإبادة الجماعية الدولية ، أعربت عن مخاوفها من حدوث إبادة جماعية ضد المسلمين الذين يعيشون في IIOJK.

أكد السفير خوخير أن محنة الناس في IIOJK قد تدهورت بشكل أكبر بسبب COVID-19. لذلك ، يجب على المجتمع الدولي حث الهند على التراجع عن إجراءاتها ورفع الإغلاق المزدوج والسماح بالوصول إلى خبراء الصحة الدوليين لتقديم المساعدة الطبية إلى الكشميريين المحاصرين. وأكد مجددًا أن حكومة وشعب باكستان سيواصلان تقديم دعمهما السياسي والأخلاقي والدبلوماسي الثابت للشعب الكشميري حتى يحصل على حقه المشروع في تقرير المصير وفقًا لقرارات مجلس الأمن التابع للأمم المتحدة ووفقًا لتطلعات الشعب الكشميري.
